摘要

BDA showed the land-based launcher being used for trials of the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM) at the DSEi exhibition in London. The missiles will be used by the land and shipboard versions of its planned Future Local Area Air Defence System (FLAADS). The FLAADS-M (Maritime) version will be retrofitted to the Royal Navy's Type 23 frigates and is due to enter service in the middle of the decade. It will also arm the future Global Combat Ship and can easily be integrated onto a range of alternative naval platforms. FLAADS-L is the land-based variant that is to replace the British Army's current Rapier Air Defence System at the end of the decade or early in the next. The exact timescale of FLAADS-L is currently under discussion.
