Based on the recommendations of a 6o-day review commissioned in early 2016 by the US Navy's (USN's) chief of naval operations, Admiral John Richardson, and assistance secretary of the navy for research, development, and acquisition Sean Stackley, the service has embarked on a programme that will change the way the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) platform is crewed and deployed.
