The new chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) is seeking to prioritise the service's plan to acquire two multirole support ships, despite continuing funding challenges. "With the need tor us to operate in a two-theatre environment [east and west Malaysia], we hope that these two ships can be given a special priority," said Admiral Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin in an interview with IHS Jane's at the Maritime Security and Coastal Surveillance conference in Kuala Lumpur on 1 December.
