Having identified a growing number of Class 209 modernisation opportunities worldwide, in 2010 Airbus DS Optronics commenced engineering development of the SERO 250 series periscope using internal funds. Designed as a cost effective, high performance retrofit solution for the replacement of existing optical periscopes, the SERO 250 introduces a compact, state-of-the-art periscope system that integrates high performance optics and, as an option, an infrared camera sensor module.
