Cassidian, the defence division of EADS, has announced the development of a new, compact, naval X-band radar able to be deployed on small craft and designed to substantially increase a ship's ability to detect small surface targets. The Tactical Radar for Surface Surveillance (TRSS) was shown for the first time on 11 September at the DSEI defence and security exhibition in London, on board the German Navy's Braunschweig-class Kl 30 corvette FGS Magdeburg.
