Pipavav Shipyard has been awarded a licence by the Indian Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to undertake defence production. The decision provides final statutory clearance to allow the Mumbai-based shipbuilder to bid for naval and defence contracts in competition against state-owned enterprises.
