The Australian government has selected a series of companies for a contract to repair and maintain the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN's) eight ANZAC-class frigates. A statement on 20 June said that following an open tender process, BAE Systems, the Babcock and UGL Infrastructure consortium, Tha-les Australia, and DMS Maritime (together with Transfield Services) had been shortlisted to compete for the five-year contract, which is worth around AUD300 million (USD316 million).
