Since the Italian Navy successfully pioneered the technology in successful missions to sink enemy ships at anchor in the first and second world wars, the swimmer delivery vehicle (SDV) has become an indispensable tool for special forces (SF) operating underwater.The SDV market has expand over recent years and, despite the understandable reluctance of operators to discuss the vehicles they use, a number of established and new manufacturers are promoting their systems openly.
