A freezing of the Danish defence budget and the cost of operations in Afghanistan will result in the premature retirement of numerous smaller vessels from the Royal Danish Navy (RDN), a senior officer has warned.rnSpeaking at the IQPC Future Naval Plans conference in London on 28 April, Commodore Per Bigum Chris-tensen, Commander of the Danish Task Group, said: "There will be no more money for the military for the next few years with continued en-rngagement in Afghanistan; it will have a major impact on the two smaller services -the navy and the air force."
