Teledyne Technologies Incorporated subsidiary Teledyne Benthos Inc has acquired Icelandic autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) maker Haf-mynd ehf for an undisclosed amount. Located near Reykjavik, Hafmynd manufactures the 'Gavia' AUV, which is designed to carry out complex survey missions for commercial, scientific and defence applications. The Gavia's modular architecture enables sensors to be easily integrated and lithium ion battery packs to be exchanged in the field, said Teledyne, which announced the deal on 20 September.
