Constructions Industrielles de la Medi-terranee (CNIM) has secured a EUR125 million contract from the Delegation Ge-nerale pour I'Armement (DGA) to deliver a new class of fast landing craft (EDA-R) to the French Navy based on the proprietary L-Cat variable-draft design.rnThe contract, notified on 15 June, comprises a firm order for four vessels with options on a further four. Delivery of the first EDA-R is planned for the first half of 2011, with follow-on units at six-month intervals.
