Shipbuilding sales fell by 50 per cent as Japan's leading military manufacturer, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), posted total revenues of JPY603 billion (USD6.35 billion) -down 14 per cent -in the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2009 (FY09).rnCiting a stronger yen and continuing falling sales in both military and commercial sectors, an MHI statement on 31 July said that net income fell to a JPY8.3 billion loss, compared with a profit of JPY189 million one year earlier.rnSales in shipbuilding and aerospace decreased 50 per cent and 9 per cent to JPY35 billion and JPY90 billion respectively.
