Sweden's Saab group has filed a lawsuit against the Polish Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Norway's Kongs-berg Defence Systems contesting the MoD's decision to award Kongs-berg a NOK800 million (USD130 million) contract for the supply of a new coastal missile system based on the latter's Naval Strike Missile (NSM).rnKongsberg was awarded the contract in December 2008 following arnhead-to-head competition with a rival team of Bumar and Saab Bofors Dynamics (offering a system based on the latter's RBS 15 Mk 3 missile). However, Saab claims that the contract should be declared void on the grounds that the NSM proposal entered by Kongsberg failed to meet a number of the key performance and technical requirements laid down by the MoD in its tender document.
