The six Fleet Tankers (FT) sought under the UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary's (RFA's) Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) programme will be built in South Korea if an industry team led by BAE Systems wins the contract. Responding to a pre-qualification questionnaire issued by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), the company disclosed on 15 February that it has Joined forces with design partner BMT Defence Services and with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to offer a solution to the Fleet Tanker requirement.
