A report prepared for the US Congress by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) has detailed the continued modernisation of Ch ina's armed forces, asserting that the Beijing government "is pursuing long-term, comprehensive transformation of its military forces to improve its capabilities for power projection, anti-access and area denial".
