Canada intends to award a contract worth more than CAD1 billion (USD892.8 million) in the second quarter of 2007 for the in-service support of its four ex-UK Royal Navy Victoria-class submarines. The Victoria In-Service Support Contract (VISSC) will provide a total of 15 years support — based on an initial five-year contract with follow-on periods of five years, three years, and two one-year contracts — with "performance measures and incentivization", according to Commander Marcel Halle, class manager for the submarines.
