The Myanmar Navy publicly displayed for the first time its newly acquired second hand diesel-electric submarine during the country's Fleet Exercise 2020 (Exercise 'Bandoola'), which began on 15 October. The highlight of the exercise, which featured at least 12 naval vessels, was the former Indian Navy Project 877EKM 'Kilo'-class submarine UMS Minye Theinkhathu (ex-INS Sindhuvir). This is the first time Myanmar has operated a submarine.
