Effect of expanded part length on quality value in straight-tube-type thermoacoustic system with a diameter-expanded prime mover

摘要

A thermoacoustic system with a diameter-expanded prime mover can drive a low onset temperature. A change in the expanded part length affects the onset temperature of the system. In this study, we focused on the change in the quality value of the system as it is a factor that affects the onset temperature. We investigated the relationship between the expanded part length and the quality value. The experimental and analysis results indicate that the changes in the expanded part length influence the amount of energy that dissipated in the system and the amount of energy conversion at the stack. In the system with expanded part length with a high-quality value, the amount of energy conversion at the stack is high and the amount energy that dissipated in the system is low. It is possible to design the expanded part length such that the onset temperature becomes low by using a quality value. (C) 2018 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
