H_2 Dissociation into H~+ in High-Dielectric Media as Viewed from the Crystallinity

摘要

We have developed a nonplatinum system that enables us to dissociate H_2 into H~+ in high-dielectric media for fuel cell applications. The dissociation energy or binding energy of H_2 embedded in dielectric media is proportional to the inverse square of dielectric constant which is closely related to the crystallinity of ferroelectrics, such as BaTio_3. We report here the significant increase in H_2 dissociation efficiency by minimizing crystallinity damage during the preparation of fine dielectric powders.
