摘要

In this paper, we investigate the solubility range and energy band gap of the powder-synthesized Ti_(1-x)Ge_xO_2 solid solution. The solubility range of Ge is determined to be 0.23 ± 0.01 at 1273 K through the variation of the lattice constant. The X-ray diffraction result revealed that the single phase of Ti_(1-x)Ge_xO_2 solid solution has a rutile structure, and Ti_(0.77)Ge_(0.23)O_2 and GeO_2 are contained in the two-phase region. The optical absorption edge of the Ti_(1-x)Ge_xO_2 is clearly observed at the ultraviolet region, and shifts toward greater photon energy as x increases, ranging from 2.98 to 3.03 eV at room temperature.
