摘要

In FY2010, Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau introduced Battery Power System directly connected to the traction power line, which employs high-capacity nickel-metal hydride GIGACELL batteries (GIGACELL®) to Komagawa substation on the Tanimachi line, with an aim to prevent regenerative braking failure as well as to make effective use of the regenerative energy. This paper reports the characteristics of GIGACELL®, the field tests conducted at the substation prior to its installation, and the results of effect measurement after its installation.
