摘要

Measurement of mean velocity and turbulent quantities has been carried out when the flow develops in the boundary layer on the (i) walls of a straight duct/diffuser and (ii) convex and concave walls of a curved duct/diffuser. The curvature parameter, δ/R, and Clauser's pressure gradient parameter,β, are 0.023 and 0.62 respectively. It is confirmed that (a) the adverse pressure gradient increases boundary layer thickness and turbulence intensity, (b) convex curvature retards boundary layer development and causes reduction in turbulence intensity and (c) concave curvature increases boundary layer thickness and turbulence intensities.
