The current study examines the psychometric properties of the Statistical Anxiety Rating Scale (STARS; Cruise, Cash, and Bolton, 1985) in the Hebrew-speaking students' population. It includes 119 undergraduate teacher-trainee students (19 males and 100 females) who have taken an introductory course in statistics. A confirmatory factor analysis of two competing models based on subscale scores shows that the two factors model (i.e., statistics anxiety and attitudes toward statistics) best describes the data, generally exhibiting acceptable model-fit indexes. The concurrent one-factor model (i.e., anxiety) exhibited poor model-fit indexes and was therefore rejected. The results are discussed in light of previous findings. In accord with the evidence supporting the six-factor model with two correlated superordinate factors, the study's findings furtherly reinforce the bi-dimensionality construct validity of the STARS.
