The book provides a thorough treatment of the concepts and methods of linear models intended for graduates in statistics or other applied fields such as economics and finance. Chapters 1-5 provide some historical perspectives in linear models and basic theories such as elements of linear algebra and matrix algebra, the multivariate normal distribution, quadratic forms of normal variables and essential results related to the analysis of both regression and ANOVA models. I think these six chapters could be omitted or combined with the later chapters where the concepts are applied. The author could also put these six chapters in an appendix. Graduate students should be familiar with the most of the basic concepts.
