摘要

This article primarily focuses on the social context of relationships developed among the network members and the social mechanisms utilized so as to govern and safeguard the exchanges amongst them. In particular: 1. Discusses the conditions allowing outsourcing and the reasons upon which loose or tight coupling is recommended. 2. Surveys the different network types and the associated tradeoffs in each type. 3. Defines the exchange conditions on the basis of their social context. 4. Elaborates on the phenomenon of structural embeddedness as a precondition to the development of social mechanisms. 5. Analyzes the emergence of social mechanisms which facilitate coordination, adaptation and safeguarding of the exchanges amongst Network partners.
