摘要

This paper discusses the role of surveyors in increasing resilience to flooding through property level measures. It explores findings of recent research, both in the UK and internationally, and describes ongoing initiatives to increase the uptake of property flood resilience (PFR).The current concepts of PFR are explained, followed by examples including evidence for their effectiveness. Two research projects are described that indicate, among other things, the need for training and awareness raising among built environment professionals in order to support propertyowners and occupiers in decisions about resilience.
