The concept of "IQ" - "intelligence quotient" - dates back almost 100 years to a German psychologist named Stern who was looking for a way to measure how smart children were relative to their peer group. Since that time, IQ scores have been correlated with a whole host of other measures, including educational achievement, happiness, job performance, and income.rnIQ scores have been controversial almost since the day Dr Stern started floating his first rudimentary tests -but the idea of locating yourself on some sort of scale (preferably on the high end of that scale!) continues to have broad appeal.
