The discussed paper presents a case study using 20 criteria (Fig. 2) selected from 39 listed risk factors presumably associated with joint ventures in the Chinese construction market. However, there are two things under concern: the suitability of adopting those 20 criteria to assess risks in construction projects undertaken by joint ventures in China; and the relationships that existed among those criteria.
