摘要

This issue of the Journal of Consumer Policy is the last to have Stephen Weatherill as one of the co-editors. However, it is by no means the last issue that will reflect the impact that he has had on the journal. Steve was involved with the leadership of the journal during a time of unprecedented growth in globalization, the rising importance of the European Union and European Community Law, the adoption of the Euro currency, and the rising influence of the World Trade Organization and global trade on how consumer protection law is interpreted and implemented. His expertise and tireless efforts to keep readers abreast of the academic legal literature that addresses these trends and developments have been a key to the success of the journal. Not only has he himself made a plethora of contributions to our understanding of European Community Law and consumer protection, but through his roles as book editor and then co-editor of the journal he has shaped and informed countless numbers of papers and book reviews that have been published in the journal. His influence will undoubtedly continue as the journal will continue to be depository for work related to these topics.
