摘要

A new calcium tantalum gallium garnet (CTCC) single crystal with dimensions of φ25 × 40 mm~2 was grown for the first time by the Czochralski method. The structure of the crystal has been studied by the X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), and belongs to the cubic system with a space group of Ia3d, α = 12.5053(1) A. The melting point of CTGG was measured to be 1546.2 C. The crystal possesses a wide transmission range from UV to IR, which is advantageous for applications as a laser host materiA1. The refractive indices were also measured by the V-prism method.
