NaCl.2H_2O crystawls fojmed by antisolvent crystallisation with N, N-dimethylisorpoylamine (DMiPA), were recrystallised batchwise into NaCkl at 0.2 deg C and 0.5 deg C in pure brines and in brines containing 5 wt /100 DMiPA. In all experiments the recrystallisation brought about a strong purification of the solid phase. The average DMiPA concenration in the NaCl.2H_2O crystals was approximately 100 ppm, whereas the DMiPA concentration in the NaCl proeduct was between 1 and 6 ppm. Both the DMiPA concentration in the mother liquor and the recrystallistion temeprature influenced the average NaCl crystal size and the rate at whcih the recrystallisation took place signficantly.
