We are very honored to guest edit this Special Issue on "Growth, Dynamics, and Economic Policy" of the JEDC in honor of Steve Turnovsky, who was for many years Editor of this Journal and who still serves as one of its Advisory Editors. This special issue has its immediate origins in a three-day workshop in honor of Steve and his scientific contributions to economics that took place May 20-22, 2010 at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna, Austria. Of the fourteen papers in this Special Issue, 12 were originally presented at the workshop in Vienna. The articles in the Special Issue divide into four categories, each of which representing a research field that Steve has made major contributions to: growth and investment, income distribution and consumption, international, and general equilibrium and welfare. We briefly describe the contributions to the Special Issue.
