摘要

Bagasse dust (BD) and bagasse fiyash (BF) were modified with physico chemical treatments to obtain pseudo activated carbon (PAC), modified bagasse dust (MBD) and modified flyash (MBF). BD, BF, MBD, MBF and PAC were analysed for their physicochemical characteristics by standard methods. Batch tests were conducted to investigate cadmium uptake under different steady state and transient rate conditions. The sorption data followed first order kinetics, and Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. The sorbents MBF, PAC, BF, MBD and BD could remove 93,92,89,74 and 58 % Cd(II) at initial metal concentration of 0.1 mg/l, pH 6.0, temperature 25℃, agitation time 5 h, sorbent dose 5 g/1 and rpm 150. The order of cadmium removal capacities for these chemical adsorbents was: MBF > PAC > BF > MBD > BD. The removal percentage in the batch is expected to be about 20 % less in the column.
