Speaking at the AOC/Shephard EW 2010 conference in Berlin last month, Col Joseph Skaja, Chief, EW/IO/DE for the US Air Force Air Combat Command's A8I Division, discussed ACC's plans for investment in various upgraded EW systems, including plans to combine the major components of the ALQ-184 and ALQ-131 pods into one pod.rn"We cannot get into the digital age if we keep trying to maintain analog equipment," Skaja said. "We can't give up everything, but what we think the best approach is, we think we can do some IRCM work, we think we can get some better RWRs. We'd like to replace the ALR-69, but that one is probably going to fall by the wayside because of funding. We are doing the pods and we're trying to improve the reliability of some of our systems."
