摘要

Deployable booms are widely used units in spacecraft to unfold and support appendages. They are generally folded compactly at the launching stage and deployed with or without motors in orbit. Currently, there are several popular designs of deployable booms for space applications, such as the spiral tube and actuator for controlled extension and retraction (STACER), articulated booms, and lenticular booms, as shown in Fig. 1. Among them, STACER has been commonly used, more than 650 times, in space as antennas or actuators. And the pushing force of the STACER in the deploying stage is the main objective of this study.
