摘要

Health systems everywhere are shaped by powerful politicalnforces, with governments, clinicians and majornsuppliers such as pharmaceutical and IT firms negotiatingnwith one another. Yet the quality of political debatenabout these forces is generally disappointing. There arena few high quality academic analyses of the politics ofnhealth systems – but only a few. James C Scott’s SeeingnLike A State is worth a second look because it adds tonthe too-short list of useful texts and, unlike somenothers, is written in clear and accessible language.
