'Good things come in small packages' or so the saying goes and its certainly true of Stephen and Sally Murch's Littleweir herd which numbers just 80 milking cows, but punches well above its weight in the quality of its cows. Established by Stephen's father, John, in 1963 on the family farm which had previously been home to a Shorthorn herd, the modern-day herd focusses on efficient milk production while breeding for type and longevity, explains Stephen.
