Monitoring is key, monitoring the crop in the field, crop quality/ maturity, when to cut, how long to wilt, dry matter content, chop length and grain processing, density during filling and at feed-out, changes in silage quality during feed-out, changes in TMR quality over the day in the feeding passage. To maintain a consistent high quality forage, all of the above need to be monitored.
