Re-ranking the top UK proven sires by PLI throws up an interesting sire or two and no more so than in 17(th) spot - Mascol. This German-bred sire, who dominated the top PLI listings during 2005 to 2007 with an Interbull proof, has been re-released on the back of his very sound, 400 plus milking UK daughter proof. Born in 2000, this Mtoto son is bred from the Lou Etta family, developed in Holland. He is from the VG85 QG Elaine, a Rudolph daughter who also bred EX90 and VG89 full sisters to Mascol at Cogent, the former then being sold to Tim Gue at Huddlestone where she bred Huddlestone Spooky as well as many promising females. Delta Eugenie VG88 is the granddam of Mascol, the heavily flushed and contracted Mascot daughter who bred many sons and daughters including Wilpe Dennis and Eurostar among others. Being bred from six generations VG or EX, Mascol has a Mtoto × Rudolph × Mascot × Cleitus × Bell × Astronaut pedigree.
