摘要

I slept last night in a good hotel I went shopping today for jewels The wind rushed around in the dirty town And the children let out from the schools I was standing on a noisy corner Waiting for the walking green Across the street he stood And he played real good On his clarinet for free (1) This is my last column. I had planned to retire from medical library work in a year or so and hopefully start a new chapter of my life but the powers that be at the hospital for which I worked had other ideas and downsized me out of a job. Rather ironic considering that I wrote a book on medical library downsizing in 2005 (2).
