A study conducted by two economists and a professor of statistics from the University of North Alabama shows that, in 2011, the 7,926 residents of the Huntsville (Ala.) Housing Authority spent an estimated $3.7 million on taxable goods, generating $129,170 in sales tax for the city of Huntsville and $18,452 for Madison County.
