The article looks interesting though it can be interpreted differently depending on how one looks at it. Figure Dl shows the pertinent variables which normally affect the resulting scour depth. Depending on the submergence ratio H/D, the jet can behave either as a submerged jet, a surface jet or a plunging jet.
