As we move further into 2011 I would like to describe two special publication events which are being planned for your Journal. First of all is a Special Issue on Functional Printing, which will appear later this year. Functional Printing is defined as the creation of functional devices by application of digital nonimpact printing technologies, e.g., ink jet and electrophotography. The issue recognizes the considerable thrust this area of imaging technology has received in recent years, with applications such as rapid prototyping, organic electronics, and solar energy. The issue is being Guest Edited by Dr. Ross Mills and Dr. Jim Stasiak, who are well known in the field, and will be based around the program of the 2010 Digital Fabrication Conference but will include additional invited review and research papers, as well as the invited papers derived from the selected conference presentations.
