摘要

In recent years, smart home has gained widespread attentions than ever. It is quite necessary to provide a uniform framework to solve the problem of interoperability among embedded electronic devices and sensors in home environment. This paper proposes a novel web service based agent to support the execution of standard web services on embedded devices with very limited computing and communication capabilities. Also, a 3-tier device driver architecture is presented to allow construction of platform-independent drivers from predefined templates. The architecture specifies communication details in a workflow-based device driver language. The agent has been deployed and evaluated with white electronic: products. The experiment results show effectiveness of the agent in a ubiquitous smart home environment.
