摘要

The construction industry has long been challenged for embracingthe opportunities presented by emerging technologies toimprove its productivity. This study aims to examine the readinessof the construction industry toward the adoption of blockchaintechnology (BT) and discusses how this disruptivetechnology could revolutionize for high productivity. Thisstudy has involved the approach of phenomenology with sixexperiencedprofessionals for understanding the readiness ofthe construction industry to adopt BT. After this, the studyidentifies the sequential procedural steps required for the successfulimplementation of blockchain solutions for applicationwithin the construction industry. The results revealed how BTcan help the construction industry to achieve high productivitytaking situational instances of Payments in Project Management(PPM), Procurements in Supply Chain Management (PSCM), andBuilding Information Modeling (BIM) using Smart AssetManagement (SAM). This study contributes to the designing ofeffective and practical steps to realize its fast adoption.
