摘要

The objective of online continuous monitoring is to improve the maintenance decision making of stochastically deteriorating systems which are subject to a sudden change in their degradation process. In this investigation, we considered different preventive replacement thresholds for different modes of degradation. An online continuous monitoring maintenance decision rule has been proposed, and since it takes into account only preventive maintenance, the decision variable is preventive replacement threshold. In order to assess the performance of the proposed maintenance policy and to minimize the long run maintenance cost per unit time, a mathematical model for the maintained system cost has been derived. Moreover, this has been compared with conventional single threshold for different modes for degradation. Numerical experiments illustrate the performance of the proposed policy and confirm that the maintenance cost rate can be minimized by optimizing preventive replacement threshold.
