igital media theft or piracy, as it is more commonly called, is a serious and pervasive problem with countries taking different approaches to J address it. It is estimated that copyright piracy and the sale of counterfeit goods costs US creators and producers billions of dollars every year.1 The French Parliament passed an anti-piracy law directed at the users who are illegally downloading music and other copyrighted material with a three strike law that has the ultimate penalty of cutting them off from access to the Internet (HADOPI law). In Britain, the Motion Picture Association was successful in having a British court order an Internet service provider, BT, to block access to a filesharing Web site, Newzbin2. The High Court in London in late June 2011, ordered BT to use its Cleanfeed censorship technology, which was intended for blocking child pornography, to prevent its subscribers from accessing Newzbin2.
