摘要

The recent emergence of the Department of Homeland Security and its focus on electronic intrusion as a viable threat to US commercial interests may accelerate the technology, laws, and means by which companies may protect against electronic crime. Right now, however, it remains to be seen just how quickly national defense tactics and technologies will be made available for use in the private sector. Accordingly, the clock is ticking. Threats are in process that must be met with the tools at hand. By preparing for the eventuality of intrusion and actively taking steps to eliminate vulnerability, organizations can reduce the threat and enhance the prospects of recovery in an environment whose only constants are risk and change.
