The Smart Ticketing Alliance (STA), created by the national smartcard schemes in France, Germany and the UK plus the Calypso Network, has moved towards agreeing Statutes and setting up as a formal organisation based in Brussels, with UITP acting as contact point and secretariat. With the Statutes in place, other smart ticketing schemes will be able to join the STA, working with other members to create seamless smart ticketing across borders.
