Nowadays, the strong competition between car traffic and public transport is forcing service providers to improve public transport services. This can be done in two ways: by improving the service itself or by improving the value-added services around the core service. One such value-added service is a high-quality passenger information system. In our fast-moving world, mobile applications are an essential part of a passenger information system and different kinds of applications exist, such as 'official' ones and those produced by third parties.
